The GridLogica Framework is the foundational methodology driving our standards. It acts as a diagnostic tool for educators and institutions. Before a high-fidelity simulation is deployed, it must pass through these three gates of verification to ensure it serves a pedagogical purpose, rather than acting solely as a technological showcase.
The Access Framework
A structured, three-tier registry for mapping immersive hardware capacity directly to measurable learning outcomes.
Cognitive Verification
Sensory Baseline
The first tier evaluates the sensory load of the simulation. Does the fidelity of the environment (texture resolution, spatial audio, haptic feedback) directly contribute to the learning objective? Or does it cross the threshold of “Efficient Fidelity” and become a distraction?
If an environment demands high cognitive load for navigation but the learning objective requires low cognitive load for conceptual retention, the framework identifies a critical pedagogical mismatch.
Embodied Assessment
Measurement
Traditional testing metrics fail in spatial computing. Tier Two forces the designer to map learning outcomes to physical, native 3D interactions.
- Gaze Tracking: Does the learner look at the critical safety mechanism before proceeding?
- Gesture Sequence: Is the physical motion required to solve the puzzle mapped correctly to the conceptual theory?
- Locomotion: Does moving through the virtual space reinforce the scale of the concept being taught?
Ethical Consent
Identity
The final tier addresses the psychological weight of avatar embodiment. When a learner is placed into a high-stakes, realistic scenario (such as a medical emergency or a hostile environment), standard “user consent” is insufficient.
The framework mandates a “Cognitive Consent” structure, ensuring the learner has agency to opt-out, debriefing protocols are established, and the perspective being inhabited is treated with ethical stringency.
